Yes, correct. I also do believe the slotted pole bridge high-gain to have been discontinued on the 4001 bass at exactly the same point in time as the neck toaster.
Re: 4001 1974 restoration
This week will send Bram some (free) Rickenbacker strap buttons:)

Fantastic help here at RRF!!!
Re: 4001 1974 restoration
Right, my May1974 4001 had exactly such a bridge PU with the Alu base, the big magnet and the unslotted pole pieces, before it got switched to a slotted PU by Jingle-Jangle during restauration. Sergio rescued this one as it was dead.daveman wrote:But later in 1973, correct? Mine from May 73 has the slotted poles.

Love getting so much info! Seems like the pickup can be seen as original or very close to original! Nice!
When the bass is ready, I hope I can reach sounds like I do with my jazzbass. Hopefully even more powerful and thick!

Very nice track. I think the Rick will fit in with (add to) your band's sound perfectly.

Chris, thanks for the strap pins!
Saw this amp online, and I thought it would be funny, just to 'have' it because it's a Rick-amp. Bought it and it just sounds fantastic!! Wow! I am impressed!
