New Vintage Series?

I was just looking at another thread and it led me to think about the original vintage series offered by Rickenbacker. Now, don't get me wrong--I love the models being offered now. But there are a few guitars I wish they'd add to the series. For example, there's no bass guitar offered any more. So here's a list of what I'd like to see added to the vintage series. If y'all can think of any more, please add to the list!

Model 1998
Model 1996

Model 1995

Clifton: Aside from the one-year 1996 resurrection back in '06, things have been quiet on the reissue front for over a decade.

I know. And I don't understand it at all. If I remember correctly, when the 4001C64 and the 325C58 were dropped from the lineup, John Hall said that comparable models would be introduced.

Fair question, but I don't believe a timetable was ever mentioned. If RIC is of the opinion that there isn't sufficient demand, this may be on hold indefinitely.

I guess I kept seeing these one-off guitars, like the Model 1997's in white and sparkle orange (and the 1993/12 and bound 1998 for Tom Petty), and felt like maybe Rickenbacker was tooling up for additions to the reissue series.

I don't think they can use production backlog as an excuse any longer.

I guess I just don't get it.

I personally think the market is there.

It would be nice, and I'd probably each mac n' cheese and bologna sandwiches for a year to save the $ for one, but there's a big difference between a small number of bidders with the $$$ to spend on a one off or limited edition, and a whole new production run of RI guitars. I think RIC will likely introduce something new in the semi-near future, but not this year or next.

The number of buyers for a new vintage Rick is probably large, but the problem is, they all want a different model. . . .
