The new Sam Ash catalogue has a SG 4003 pictured for the Ric bass.

Yeah, Musicians friend has the same pic. I looks to be an old stock photo of when RIC offered turquoise as a finish option.

I just received a Musicians Friend catalog with a 4003 pictured in Turquoise. You'd think they would have someone making the catalog who would know better, that this could cause a problem. Amazing that yet many people with better skills and attention to detail are still jobless.

Maybe they know something that we don't...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

RIC's website shows the 4004Cii with '99-'04 pickup layout (closer to the bridge), and the 4003 with a pre-'97 hump-less pickguard, thicker horns and narrow inlays. So I guess Sam Ash and MF are not the only ones with outdated photos

I noticed the 4004L pickup placement the other day too, when checking out some specs for my project...

And I agree 100% with Joey - it seems so much shoddy work of late in our world, and so many good people's skills are just wasting away. :(
