4001 1974 restoration

Had some problems with the Grovers, two of them were having the feared 'exploding' issue. Luckily my cousin was able to fix them! He tapped the boxes and installed screws in all 4 tuners. Fantastic upgrade to the tuners. The bass will return with the tuners and the bridge on it to the luthier this weekend where it will be PLEK-ed. I will fix the electronics myself at home. Hopefully the last parts will arrive before the weekend

A question. Could someone be so kind to order some screws for me at pickofthericks? It seems that you can't order from Europe. Please let me know!!

...so, now the lady got back her make-up, but can tellyer: the scraping of the fingernails (binding) after make-up takes quite some skill

and I admire that specialist at RIC shown in the factory tour!

: Lady with makeup still needs some body lotion (final varnish)...

The bass is PLEK'd and plays fantastic! I love it, wow!!
Here some pics. Today I am going to solder the electronics.

Finished the Rick-O-Sound, fully working. Also replaced the pickupleads and both pickups work! Can't wait to hear them!

Not sure about the dots. Are they black? Red? Aged red? Brown?

I didn't realize there is so much difference between these pickup surrounds. Actually the cover wont fit the left one, but it fits the original perfectly.
So I am looking for a trade, the left one, in perfect condition, for a surround as the right one, in perfect condition too. Anyone?

...the original red dots "expired" by June 1974 and were much brighter.
