SnoGlo Porn

Post by Keef »

The honeymoon with my SnoGlo 4003 is far from over....
The other day at a gig I found the stage wall was the perfect backdrop for my new bass. I ended up taking LOTS of pictures and thought I would share some with you all. I hope that's ok.

Man, that backdrop at the club is pure 60's psych! The SnoGlo looks great but I want to hear more about this club that was time warped from 45 years ago.

Very Cool! Great shots, and yes that first pic does look like the rout under the guard.

Nice pix!

There are quite a few guards that show the routes.

RIC often (nearly always?) uses a slightly translucent pickguard material. It is more noticeable when the back surface is on White; the contrast of the deeper, more shaded areas in the routes shows through.

And when we didn't, people complained vociferously about it.

That all came to a head when acrylic production completely ceased in the USA and was all moved to Mexico and China, resulting in every batch being a different opacity.

My '74 MG has that effect... I always thought it was kind of cool!

Thanks everyone!
Yes, it's a pretty trippy background... very 70's.
I kind of like the semi translucent pick guard... it gives it a bit of an organic feel.

I can't say enough about how much I love this bass. It played perfect out of the box... I didn't have to adjust or tweak anything (except for adding vintage type knobs). The tone is so powerful and full... I could go on and on, but I realize I'm preaching to the choir!
And now that I'm not expecting my v63 to sound like a 4003, I'm falling in love with that bass all over again too. I was considering selling it a while ago, but it's a keeper now. I put a set of Thomastic flatwounds on it and it sounds amazing.
