When i swapped my Avatar 1-12 cab recently,i played a 5 string Carvin through it and one of these heads. I really loved the sound,it seemed like it was pushing a lot more bass/air than i even knew the cab was capable of previously. (The low B might have helped that a bit.) Cool amp, congrats!

I had to take the plunge Jeff, I just couldn't turn down Musicians Friend "stupid deal of the day" one morning.

There is a lot of bad press out there about reliability issues with the PF500 though, although I've really pounded it in for a couple of weeks now and it hasn't even gotten warm. So hopefully my revision "J" model will be OK.

I hope you got a good one, Scott. :D I was thinking of getting one when they first came on the market but I heard the wind whispering Aguilar, so I had no choice but to go with the Tone Hammer 500. 8)

Besides that, I have a good friend that is a real amplifier savant. I've seen him repair amps that were absolutely charred.
