Note the shape on that treble pickup surround. That was the level of authenticity I was looking for on the C64 reissue...well, that and a 'right handed' headstock.

That is absolutely magnificent, Ken. The modern horsehoes are nice, v. consistent in profile, but never quite get the look. And what fabulous condition that bass is in. Give it a Christmas pluck from me!

I reshaped the shoes on my V63 to look more like those on Ken's bass.

Looking good Ken. I wish there was another surround like that to be found, but somehow I doubt it.
It would be perfect for my 67 project. I need a large pickguard exactly like that too, to cover this...

Although the current horseshoe surrounds aren't the correct shape, there seems so be enough material to re-shape them to look more like the '67 piece. This should be followed by re-chroming.

Christopher, is the one on the right a Rickenbarker?

And does it have a lot of growl!
