Hey Ken, it's only a bit of fun eh? I myself enjoy the speculation. I just hope the colour of the year is something out of the ordinary.

It's a great marketing thing. Look, it's got our attention, and limited colours always command premiums (unless it's vomitglo or something). Ric market their products just like everyone else, and the ever-changingglo was quite an amusing way of getting punter interest. Shows they've recognised that the specialists/collectors are interested. And that they've got a sense of humour. And let's face it, FG/MG/JG can get pretty repetitive. Rodent's posterior, anyone? I've got some to give away...
enough, already.

Ken, I can't even afford a Rick mate. Doesn't stop me being curious about what colour they might want to introduce next year.
I didn't realise I was offending you so much by asking!!

Translucent Red, Green and Blue.

I’ll take a 4003 Trans Green!

you know its really stupid to make a statement that ric's making on there site, like we care so damn much, ooh keep us guessing

Ken, they're doing nothing of the sort. They always announce the new color at the January NAMM show. That's when all the companies announce new models, colors, options etc. What's so hard to understand about that? Why do you think NAMM holds shows? It's to showcase its members' latest offerings, even if it's only a new color.

This is the third thread on this forum about the new color, there's another at the Dudepit and maybe more elsewhere. That means people are interested. RIC is just responding to our interest with a little humor.

I think the January NAMM show will show a new variation of the 4004.

Steve Cooper asked: "Joey, if it came from RIC in that condition, can't you get it fixed under the warranty?...they would make it right.

Steve you have email about this matter.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

There's lots of factories which have the excess capacity to make whatever you want. In fact, they'd love to have your business.

We, on the other hand, are at 100% capacity. I'd also love to have your business but to make a custom guitar for you we wouldn't be able to make 2 or 3 standard guitars that other people have been waiting for.

I don't think we'd be at full capacity if we weren't fairly well "on the ball".

I'll gladly forego a custom shop to keep Rickenbackers built in Santa Ana.

One of the biggest issues I see with other builders these days is the farming out of manufacturing to other countries.

This allows for a potentially cheaper product, but in the end, in my opinion, ends up dilluting the quality, it's hard to put any kind of TLC into a product when you've nothing emotionally invested.

I think it is kind of cool that Ric would play along with the color guessing game for those interested - it shows both an appreciation of that interest and a sense of humor.

I'm sure there are fans of other guitar companies who are interested in what is going to be announced, but few of them would take the time to have a little fun on their website.
