1964 Fg 4000 model - appraised value

Can anyone give me a reasonable estimate based on present market conditions what a 1964 model 4000 bass in FG would be worth today?
Not what it might appraise at but what I might actually get if I tried to sell it.
It is in pretty good condition...has a few marks here and there. Not perfect but all original.

Tough to value given the rarity, the soft market and just one pic. If it's all original and in excellent structural condition I'd venture in the $6-7k range. If the horsie is a reissue then that would devalue the bass by about $1k.

With rarities you may find one buyer who will pay way up, or find no buyers at all, depending upon timing.

No route for the toaster. Just the usual extended channels for the truss rod. She is all original, including the horseshoe.
Still $6-$7K in this market? I had hoped it was worth more than that.

Without a route for the toaster (eliminates a good chunk of the 4001s/1999 crowd), I'd have to say $5000-$5500. I do hope I am proven wrong - GLWTS!

O.K. here are some more pics.
I have the chance to trade her for a Gretsch Roundup in so-so condition. The Roundup is worth about $7K but after cleaning her up I figure more like around $10K

What a really rare, cool bass with a lovely patina. I can't recall a '64 4000 for many years. Anyone?

Saying that, rarity doesn't always translate into top dollar for a specific instrument, and it's still tough out there. That '64 $4K deluxe that sold last week that was refinished and had a host of issues, made for more positive thinking regarding the market here. This one appears to have possibly been refretted and lost it's fretboard lacquer, and seems to be missing the original saddle height screws.

Depending on the usual neck issues, I'd have thought $6-7K could be possible, maybe slightly more for a motivated buyer. Does it have it's original case?

That is a very very beautiful looking thing. Love it. As for price, I've been interested in two recently - a 1965, unrouted all original excepting the case (sold in Europe) and a 1967 which was factory routed (sold in USA). They were about $8K and $5K respectively. 1964 normally holds a premium, but a single pick up isn't to everyone's taste.

Q. Would it have had a finger rest? When did they come in?
