What are some people thinking when selling Ric's?

Post by highway_star »

This guy is obviously smoking something or another. Why should anyone pay this exhorbitant price for a used 4003 when I can a brand new one for $995-1195?

Can you imagine all the hours it took to write that lengthy description, rules, etc and to take the photos for a no sale!

This is a person who one way or another happened into this bass. The sellser then looked up the MSRP before checking previous Ebay sales for the same model. I am sure this will be a relist at a lower price. It will probably be relisted 2 or 3 times before a clue is had.

That's funny, Jared. We should forward that to the seller.

All I can say is "wow" on the amount of detail for such an expensive auction....

I'm pretty sure this was listed before, just last week and didn't sell. The turquoise 4003 was also listed. These sellers must think buyers are clueless.

They are Christmas listings, hopeful someone's been well into the rum and eggnog before bidding. Payment in 3 days, worldwide, by mail? Not going to happen pal.

I don't always understand the buyers, either (myself included, at times). Someone will need to explain what's so special about this one, a '78 4001 at $1,575?

Man, that seems like a lot...

Lindsay, I also thought the price was getting ridiculous on that one just because it is white.

I think that's exactly the way ebay would like their auctions to go. Bid early, bid often! Looks like an ebay rookie is getting taken for a ride. He probably won't have the funds to complete the transaction!
