I feel like I can tell...

... what RIC is producing at any given time these days just by looking at ebay. There's a glut of 381's out there, so I'm guessing they just shipped a big run of 381's. Am I somewhat right in my overall assessment?

I don't know about that. I did a quick search on ebay saw 5 or 6 of model 381 for sale that were 2013 issue. Of course these are not being sold by RIC dealers, but are secondary market offers. There is likely a lag time of a few months for dealer overstock pushed out to the resellers.

I think a better overview of RIC current production, if there is one, would be via a RIC dealer site that displays full inventory, like Wildwood. Using serial nos, you can tell what's recent and what's been there for a while. No 381s there, BTW. Of course, that doesn't account for customer orders that are filled. And the 381s could have been there and recently sold out, so only The Man knows for sure!

Yeah, there's no way to account for the time lag, especially with the crazy unrealistic markups on guitars like the 381 that aren't made much. I think the 381 production run was sometime during 1Q 2013.
