Is the finish original? How does it play?

Yep, the finish is all original, with some very nice mojo. I played it all evening at band rehearsal, great out of the box! :D This is a really nice bass, John. 8)

My coolness is shortlived, I'm afraid. :(

Scale length is 31". But, it feels real natural to play on.

I have to thank Jeff again for the huge assist in picking this up for me. The seller was a nice guy, but not really interested in shipping or Paypal. Jeff drove out and grabbed it for me in Cleveland last night. 8)

I'm kind of starting to wonder if he's actually going to send it to me, though. He seems to like it. A LOT. :?

Jeff, I think these are "officially" 30.5" scale.

Oh, I thought you mentioned some thing about '67?

BH 1857 or 18SJ, hard to tell for sure. It is the last two numbers that may be some variation of those numbers/letters.
