481 W/Bigsby saddles worn out?
After all these years of owning this 481 Slant Fret w/Bigsby, Just got a good look at the saddles!, I guess the"Sawtooth Mountain" look came from going down on trem bar,and maybe strings slipped around with slant fret angle?..(they stay put with genteel trem action).,and the original bridge rocks back and fourth on the 4 "pins" when trem is used!..Can I have the original (pictured) saddle slots rounded and filed down more,or do I need to find new saddles?..I want to keep the original bridge, Plus can't afford a roller or bowtie, plus not sure if any suitable saddles are available any more. Right now the action and playability is still great, and unlike any other guitar I have played!

It doesn't look like those were ever notched. Is that the way the slanted fret models came? Is it a replacement bridge? I don't know.
You should be able to get those filed down and re-notched by any competent guitar tech.

Your guess is good as my own, deaconblues, but I'm pretty sure the bridge is original w/saddles,exept the height adjust screws may not be original, The way I got it in 1980....I'm pretty sure the strings in the pictures are sitting in the original notches, and over the years of use by myself, and then my friend who had it for 15 years put some miles on them saddles!..I guess my main question was...How far down can I file these saddles before it's too far down?..(with slant fret and Bigsby in mind?deaconblues wrote:It doesn't look like those were ever notched.
