Wire came loose

Post by Redstrand »

Gads, the grey wire from my 77 4001 bridge pup came loose. The black one is soldered to the back of the bass volume, from the photos on line I can't tell where this goes. I know this is a mess, I bought it this way and will be buying a new harness after the new year. My finger is holding the wire and the ground(black) that is right on my finger is from the bridge pup.

Here is the photo.

Got it, man they had this all fubar'd. Other than the switch being worn out its good to go, I'll be ordering a wiring harness soon.

Glad to hear. 8) I looked at the photo and would have replied but I couldn't really see the wiring well enough to tell what was going on, sorry.

Couldn't see what you had there, maybe the treble pup. Looking at that loom, you may wish to PM Dane Wilder, and have him make you an all new harness, or overhaul that one. Those 70's caps are still around etc. for authenticity. Noticing you had an AutumnGlo, I couldn't resist a college photo circa '76, age 20.
Not only did I have hair, it was perm' d no less! I only ever did that once!

This bass wasn't mine, and it was borrowed. At the time, I had a white 4001 with black trim and I was a Swing Bass '66 user, and the frets were away being dressed. They would cut a good groove after about a year of playing.

Cheers....

Loom is right, already messages Dane when I first got the bass. Had to pay for our wedding first, the autumn glo will shine again. It's a dream to play.
