Sounds good to me! (Nice Ampeg, too!)
Re: Laredo Demo (Chicago Music Exchange)
Sounded good until he added the fuzz. Completely lost me there.
Huge volume difference between the front and rear pu's. Can they be adjusted for height?

Re: Laredo Demo (Chicago Music Exchange)
They can be adjusted for height to some degree. The pickup rests in a foam ring (said to be the same material as used in the 4003 mute pad) and held in place by small wood screws in the center of each side of the surround. By tightening or loosening the screws, you increase or decrease the compression of the foam, allowing the pickup to float or sink into the foam.

Dude has a JetGlo beard too!
Not bad, although the Fuzz was a little much….still nice though.

Agreed; that is why I sold my Bass Big Muff π and replaced it with a tc electronic MOJOMOJO.RickyBubba wrote:Not bad, although the Fuzz was a little much….still nice though.

Excuse me but all I hear are new roundwounds. I can't tell much about the character of a bass when it wears fresh rounds.
Gorgeous looking bass, nonetheless.

Re: Laredo Demo (Chicago Music Exchange)
Seems more like a demo for the pedal than the Laredo.
It could just be the recording, but I think my Cii's sound much sweeter than that Laredo.

JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: Laredo Demo (Chicago Music Exchange)
I am really starting to love my smallsound/bigsound Team Awesome! FuzzMachine.....acts like it was actually designed for bass... but I digress....
IMHO The fact that there was a nice demo video for a 4004 machine is fantastic! It is still one of the best kept secrets in all of Ric-dom! And reviewer dude is very complementary! Huge sound from a light weight bass like this is just unbelievable... and the tonal range is, well, fantastic. The lines are just so darned sleek that they are almost sexual in nature...... my 4004L8 is jetglo, as the one in the video, and when polished up it looks like liquid coal! and the sound from my 4004C is just so complete it has become my stage 4 string! Not too bad for a couple of basses from '93!!!!

Me too Kev. and the pup height can only minimally be adjusted, but if one was lowered and the other raised, balance could be closer or achieved.teeder wrote:Sounded good until he added the fuzz. Completely lost me there.

Re: Laredo Demo (Chicago Music Exchange)
The guitarist in one of my bands is discovering the sound differences in a distortion pedal as opposed to an overdrive. (the VT pedal can really do both very well)
I agree that it is great to see 4004's being touted anywhere, anyhow!

And by CME, to boot, given their past history with the brand. But IIRC, that was under different ownership, too.woodyng wrote:I agree that it is great to see 4004's being touted anywhere, anyhow!
