Hey. If you take a pen knife to the 4003 you could carve yourself a LK!

I thought the pictures here were a Photoshop deal!

Just saw the RIC FB page...cool!
MAPLE fingerboard 4003 eh? NEAT!
"Available for 2014 only"
JH,
Does the Walnut give the 4003 a WARMER sound than the maple? REALLY curious how this bad boy sounds....

Re: NAMM 2014
I'll personally evaluate a bass, a six string, and a twelve-string, and report back.
I'm shocked; there haven't been any complaints about the new models from folks who complain there are never any new models. . . .

There is no reason to ever be bored.

W series would look better with no binding on the body and a dark wood fret board....
Just my opinion....
Which I just rammed down your eye holes...

Re: NAMM 2014
Unless there's more coming, I'm underwhelmed.
Recently on the RIC Facebook page, there's shown a JetGlo Double-bound 12-string model with F-Hole, and custom pickguard, a very nice looking "Satin Tobaccoburst" shown on a 330 and 4003, and a beautiful Sea Green Pearl model (I can't see if it's bound), with toasters and F-Hole. All of them look great. If these models and colors were offered in addition to the Walnut models, I would be ecstatic.
If not, then not so much.

I LOVE the idea of a 4003 with a Maple fret board! These look great!
Re: NAMM 2014
No complaints as such, but as it has taken me about four years to accumulate my set of Walnut/maple Rickenbackers (650D Dakota / 650S Sierra / 380L Laguna & 4004Ci Cheyenne), I have no idea where I now go from here. At the very least, that 4003W would sure make a nice addition.....paologregorio wrote:I'm shocked; there haven't been any complaints about the new models from folks who complain there are never any new models. . . .
Aaagh!!!!!

Still, you can only please some of the people some of the time.

Now, if only we had the option to order 'em with checker binding...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

They're kinda nifty as a COY, though not to my taste personally. They remind me of Mocha Brown Fenders...

I'm not sure I understand this.paologregorio wrote:I'm shocked; there haven't been any complaints about the new models from folks who complain there are never any new models. . . .
If it's rare or limited somehow it'll probably cost more wouldn't you think?sloop_john_b wrote:Will these cost less than the standard versions of the same models?

Re: NAMM 2014
Nothing more to say really - I just wanted to get my 200th post up on the RRF and this seems as good a place as any!
Judging by comments on Ric's Facebook so far, opinions on the Walnut COY seem quite divided - even polarised!

If I'm not mistaken, I think there's significantly less investment in the finishing department with an oil finish. I also believe walnut might be a cheaper wood. The 650D was very affordable in its time.cassius987 wrote:If it's rare or limited somehow it'll probably cost more wouldn't you think?sloop_john_b wrote:Will these cost less than the standard versions of the same models?
