Don't take this out of context,,,I'm not complaining. But I'd prefer a rosewood / bubinga fingerboard.

Like to see one in person

I like it, but I prefer maple boards to rosewood...

I also love the look of the 4004 Ci, and my 650 Dakota.

And my custom build (probably a month or less away from being done) pretty much takes my gassing for this away:

Interesting…. Works for me only if the walnut has some good grain. Otherwise it would get a little boring, like a maple glo with no grain. The maple finger board does look nice!

Now a highly figured claro walnut…that would be something!

The first generation 4004C's 20 years ago looked great even with plain looking walnut.

I don't understand why RIC don't offer (or re-introduce) the W option for 4004C's... They should.

Yeah, I've always loved the original Cheyenne. That's one of mine that is not on the selling block.

Unfortunately, I didn't go this year but a co-worker snapped this with a cell phone.

Very nice! I like walnut instruments, both of my Martin Keith basses have walnut bodies. 8)

A black pickguard would look better IMHO.

I agree, but you didn't just change the guard there; you also changed the binding color.

Being that one of my favorite RIC color combinations is MapleGlo and black trim: I would love to see this with the Walnut, but would JH bring back black trim? Hasn't he said multiple times that it just wasn't popular enough to continue?

Not that I don't love that RIC is branching-out with designs and options, but I've never been a fan of light-color inlay on light-color wood; I'd prefer something like Pickguardian's "Black Pearl" or "Black Marble" inlaid with black binding on the maple fingerboard:

The walnut does look lovely, and it is starting to grow on me... 8)

Oh no, no, must resist. Just got my points back for my SnowGlo purchase.
But I am partial to maple boards.

Oh yes, black pearl inlays would rock it, with a black pearl PG and TRC.

I bet if you had coin they would do a special build for ya!
