What's wrong with turquoise?

Post by loverickbass »

I've noticed that not many people here have this color. I just bought a 370_12 turqoise this week and I think it's beautifull. Sorta' like an old 50s Cadillac. You think turqoise will be the next Azureglo?

Cole, I didn't like the Turquose finish until I saw it in person, then I thought it looked very cool. Pictures of the turquoise finish never did it justice. I have a trans teal StingRay5, it's color never comes out right in pictures either.

That's exactly how I felt. I never liked it in the pics and one day I saw one in person and said I gotta get one.

Didn't Ric have it as a color choice on the late 50s "tulip" style guitars?

I think that Cole has it spot on...most photos of tq look really, really drab. I have just done a deal with Mike Smith at RicsRUs on a 340tq that I am picking up on Thursday. Being honest, I've never seen one in the flesh, but I just fancied some thing a bit different. Mike reckons it looks superb & I trust him totaly, so I'm really quite excited about it. I'll post a pic when I get it.....& no Jim....it's not fireglo!
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

I'm sorta'different when it comes to Ric collecting. I like to find the odd ball ones. Sure, I love fireglo, jetglo and all the standards but there is something special about picking up a 370_12 in a discontiued color. I'm always thinking ahead. You don't see many 370's and surely don't see them in turqoise. I think the turqoise Rics will be tommorrows Azureglo. At least that's what I'm hoping for.Image
