what cleaner/polish do you use on your Ric?

I would not recommend using "Pledge" on any guitar. Years ago it was allegedley ok, but as Mr. Hall pointed out, modern Pledge has ingrediants that are problematic.
I have a 2013 620 in Ruby and the finish is extemely hard and scratch resistant. That being said, I am very careful with regard to what kind of cloth I use. I have found that very soft, optical quality microfiber clothes
work very well....just make sure they are super soft and not the kind for household cleaning which can be ever so slightly abrasive. You can also get optical quality microfiber clothes much cheaper on line from the companies that
make them than from a guitar supplier. As far as cleaners go, I've been using Dunlop Formula 65 Cleaner/Polish on all my guitars including the Rick and it works well. Just spray a little on the cloth and wipe....then use the dry side of the cloth to remove...works great. I'm not real familar with anything for heavier cleaning as I just play in my basement and my guitars never get anything mor than some fingerprints, smudges and a little sweat from my forearm.

Not current Scratch X, right? Just the old version, which has a different name now, right?

I think the new version that is similar to the old Meguire's Scratch X, is called Swirl X.

IIRC, Paul W said Kit Scratch Out and Nu Finish Scratch Doctor were good also, Nu Finish Scratch Doctor being his latest favorite to use before applying Zymol.

Long sleeves, long sleeves. I never play a guitar unless I am am wearing a long sleeve shirt.

I've used pledge on my guitars for years. What's the problem with dimethicone? and why would I ever want to refinish my guitar (unless it was caught in a flood or fire?) I don't see any problems. I figure if it's good enough for heirloom quality cherry dining room tables, its good enough for a Rickenbacker. Just sayin'...although I am intrigued by zymol and its scent (which has to beat lemon any day).
