I see this on ebay quite often and always am amazed that someone would pay twice as much for the bridge pickup cover than if they bought it from pic o ric or rhoads...I guess PT Barnum was right!!! Happy New year and keep on rick'n... dminer

Yeah, you can get a new one for $15 shipped (USA). These guys that sell them on ebay know that there are enough people out there who don't have clue of how to find RIC parts or can't easily get them outside the USA.

I bought a Ric-o-Sound unit for pure novelty value. Tried it a few times, didn't really need it - interesting yet obsolete feature. Good to have with a stereo bass, however - especially when the F$nder players come over to me and say:
"Mark, what the hell is this??"

"... I guess PT Barnum was right!!!"

Actually he wasn't, it was David Hannum. (click here)

I gave away about 4 or 5 of those covers last year to people here in the forum.

There are those who want the cloth with the old silkscreen. I actually had someone trade me for one of those on a guitar that I was selling. But $50? Not bloody likely!

If I thought I could really get $50 a piece for an unused older style cloth, I'd have two on ebay right now, then maybe I could even get $25 to $30 each for ones I have used !! Image

When did RIC sub-contract Taiwan-made guitar parts?

A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

When I first saw those, I had a good laugh as well, but when they weren't 'pulled', I actually began to wonder if I'd missed something!
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.
