Rick-o-sound not working 370/12 help please
Hi, i have a Roger Mcguinn 370/12 and the Rick-o-sound input is not working, the standard is fine. I would welcome any help on fixing this, is there a common fault/problem associated with this? or could it be a number of things? I am going into the studio on Thursday and would like to try and fix it myself by then.
Thanks a lot!

Forgive me if this is too basic:
Have you used the ric-o-sound before? It is a stereo output, so you will need either a ric-o-sound box or a TRS cable and splitter to make it work. Otherwise, you may only get the bridge (iirc) pickup, and not even that, depending on where the fifth knob is set.

Hi Geoffrey, sorry I did not explain the problem too well.
When I plug my guitar lead into the "standard" input I get sound. When I plug it into the "rickosound" input I get no sound whatsoever at any setting, where previously I had sound. I assume there is something wrong with the "rickosound" input?
With regards to using the stereo functionality I have a stereo y splitter cable. But the problem is the "rickosound" input is not working even with a mono cable.
Thanks

Doesn't it have to be a stereo plug on the cable, for the plug to be the proper length, in order to make proper contact within the jack ? ?Dave Mclean wrote: But the problem is the "rickosound" input is not working even with a mono cable.

Why would you plug a mono cable into Rick-o-Sound?
Did you try the stereo cable?

Yes I tried the stereo cable as well

If you plug a mono cable into the ROS jack you should get the bridge pickup (IIRC)
If you plug cables into both jacks at the same time (which is WRONG, it's WRONG) I have no idea what would or should happen. I think the space-time continuum would fall apart.

You'll get nothing if plugged into both jacks at the same time. You should get *something* with a mono cable (which is 1/2 of the stereo cable, so you get 1/2 the stereo signal). I remember plugging both halves of a stereo splitter into the guitar and being baffled when no sound came out.jdogric12 wrote:If you plug a mono cable into the ROS jack you should get the bridge pickup (IIRC)

Dave,
You said you were planning on fixing it yourself - it might be worth removing the jack plate to see if the issues is something as simple as a loose wire or bad solder joint.
I am not familiar with whether the setup is different on a 370 than a 360 or 4001 (the basis for my answers).
All said, unless you have a ric-o-sound box or stereo cable, the ric-o-sound won't be useful.
