WTB: 60's short-pole toaster

I think I have one in a drawer...I will see if I can get something in it to measure.

Here is short pole from a 1966 345. I converted the guitar to a 330, so this is left over. I am saving it for a future project if I can find the right husk. I stuck a piece of paper next to the magnet. The depth from the bottom of the pole to the under-side of the cover is marked. The measurement ends just before the ink mark, at about .7 centimeters. I hope this helps.

What will happen if you remove the PU cover - would You see the tip of that clever gauge then?

.7cm is a little over 1/4". It looks like the shortest ones offered are 3/8". Might be enough to avoid bottoming out.

What is the diameter of the toaster polepieces?

What was the material used in the 60's?

How hard is it to replace the magnets? Any special instructions?

The toaster in my '67 can't be lowered any more due to the magnets bottoming out. I may modify a newer scatter-wound with shorter magnets so I can drop it down a little.

Needlenose pliers and wiggle them out the bottom. Glue the new in. This works with the plastic molded bobbin. Are the old toasters molded bobbins or the wire wrapped around the poles type? If you are going to use a new scatterwound, then you will be fine.
