v63

Post by cinemadrummer2001 »

Does anyone know if Rickenbacker has any plans to reintroduce the v63 bass from the 1990's?

Probably not, but they do pop up on eBay often enough and in the Marketplace section of the Forum as well...

A proud owner of a V63 myself, I can tell you that these are absolutely fantastic!

Please JH don't reintroduce those as I want to be one of the few with such perfectly built instruments! :D

I have always considered the 4001V63 the quintessential all-round Rickenbacker bass guitar....

RIC has reissued the 1963 model and the McCartney variation, now it's time they reissued a deluxe model, with checkerboard binding and crushed pearl inlays.

Preferably a v68 in Amber Jetglo, if they asked me.

RIC hints occasionally of redoing the "dot neck" vintage version. They made a batch for (mostly) a Japanese distributor in 2010 and called it simply the "1999" (referencing the Rose Morris model designation for those exported to the U.K. and Australia). I suspect that we'll see them again someday.

I'm the original owner of this girl - I'll never let her go... Check out the horseshoe that came with her...

I had one and realized the horseshoe didn't work for me. I sold it .during the peak economy back in 07 for $2900. They are beautiful basses.
