4004 Cii wiring problem?

I am the original owner of a 2008 4004 Cii MG. I don't play it in a band, just in my house.

For the first time in all those years I had occasion to turn the bass volume down a little while playing. I noticed that the treble was cut in the process - it's quite noticeable. I doubt that what I'm hearing is a design feature. I imagine that wires got crossed during factory assembly.

Have any of you experienced this? Do you know what the cause might be?

A request - if any of you have answers, suggestions, or speculation, please spell it out for me. I don't know anything about electronics or circuit diagrams.

The circuit is designed so that with the controls fully on the signal goes from the switch to the output jack bypassing the pots. The way most instruments are wired the impedance of the pots has an effect even with them fully turned up. It's normal for the highs to be cut as the volume is lowered but you notice more of a difference with the 4004 circuit. It's most likely wired correctly.

Thanks, Badanovski. Yeah, I've heard this effect on other guitars and basses, but it seems pretty severe on my 4004.
