NBD: 4003 FG

Post by NFB-418 »

I will be taking delivery of a new 4003 FG (hopefully tomorrow). In anticipation, I visited my local authorized RIC dealer for a couple of required parts.

I've owned a few Ricks throughout the years and I'm most excited about my first FG. I've been Rick-less for a few years now and it's great to be back in the club.

Pics to come.

No, Woody, I've always liked the vintage-style strap bolts in terms of functionality and aesthetics.

Excitement is building...

Yes, sir. Still have to get the book, Paul. I paged through it recently at Barnes & Noble. Very impressive. I'm in Milwaukee. Any chance I could score a signed copy?

Sure! I'll be coming down to MKE tonight on several missions (from OZ). Wanna meet up? The only time I have to be somewhere is 7pm. Holler back at me on e-mail, and we'll talk: pboyer2 AT wi.rr DOT com

Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

Stopped by to meet Jason Wagner (aka Jay Michael) early this evening and get him a signed copy of the book. What a great young man and returning Rick bass enthusiast. Welcome back to the fold and hope to read more from you here on the RRF! Enjoy the book!

Thanks, Paul. It was a pleasure meeting you and I appreciate you taking the time to visit. I started reading the book and couldn't put it down. I even brought it with me to work so I can read a little bit during the lunch hour. It is chock full of info and certainly the definitive field guide on the Rickenbacker bass - until there's a Volume II, of course. You should be proud of such an achievement.

Seriously, if you're a forumite and you don't own this book, you need to get it a.s.a.p.

The new 4003 is currently at the luthier's shop for a set up and I will definitely post more detailed pics when it comes back. I'm also excited to gig with it for the first time next Thursday (the 26th).
