A few updates - bass is all fixed up, color coats and clear coats are shot, waiting for the lacquer to harden for buffing. My guy tells me it'll be done in a few more weeks...

Binding is all replaced, color coats on.

Clear coats shot, still needs buffing!

The pickguard is the last piece needed, and it'll be here in a few days. The original wiring is all more or less intact, pickups both work. I have a correct jack plate and all the hardware I need, so I should be able to have this back together in a day or so once it's buffed out. It'll be a nice companion to my '84 4003 in JetGlo.

More pics once it's all done!

The Gibb bass (DH163) had a perspex sheet like a pickguard on the back when I bought it back in the 70s.
I bought a late 60's P bass around 1977 that had a plastic cover on the back also but it attached at the two pegs for the neck strap, so no holes in the bass.
