It's getting the final touches right now!!! Hardware and everything else is being put on as we speak. The black hardware really makes a huge difference in the look and the ebony fingerboard has a very nice shine now that it has been buffed. Ive included a picture of the battery mounted inside the cavity (had to get crafty and its held in with a cabinet clip, works wonders though!) and a pic of the face of the instrument with the pickguard and tailpiece attached. It's looking so good so far I'm at a loss for words!

Nice looking, Brendan! 8) That battery clip should be fine,, I have one of those around here, somewhere, and used another on one of the Zon basses I had.

Using a cabinet clip was a brilliant idea.

Just chiming in to say wow! This looks incredible... how badass is that; your own custom Rick, direct from the factory!!! That is an unbelievable job perk. John Hall catches a lot of flack online, and some of it may be deserved, but he gets my vote for best boss ever... anyone know if they're hiring? My background is in sales, but I can sweep warehouses if that get's my foot in the door!

Here you go everyone, here is the finished product!! I'm beyond pleased with how this came out and I couldn't put it down when I got home! As good as it looks it sounds even better! There is a lot of low end and mids that you can get from it along with some strong punchy treble tone, definitely a very versatile instrument!! The action is like butter and your fingers fly along the fretboard with the vintage frets. The buffed ebony fingerboard has an amazing shine to it and the black hardware looks amazing on it and I'm very happy with my choice to go with the standard black keywinds. I will try and get some video of what it sounds like as soon as I can, once the onboard distortion is turned on this thing gets angry ha ha ha.

Absolutely lovely Brendan! :D

However, you missed the binding on the headstock...
Was the 4002 TRC something that was printed fresh for your instrument, or is it actually leftover 4002 stock?

Also, and I am sorry if I missed this earlier in the thread, but how is the on-board distortion activated?

Reminds me a little of mine, though I wish I had checkerboard!

Great jobs, guys (even though you forgot about the headstock binding  )! I see you have flats on it, cool choice for the 4002BD. The inlays pop nicely on the ebony fingerboard.

Thank you Sean!

I really wanted the binding on the headstock but opted not to have it last minute so it would be an easier build process.

The TRC was one that we found not too long ago so its an original!

The Onboard distortion is activated by turning the knob closest to the input jack. It has five different settings and clicks over every time you turn the knob until it stops on 5. Yours is beautiful!!!!!!!
