Thought y'all might like to see these. Taken with my Kodak almost 37 years ago when I was 11. They kicked me out but I was able to get these 3 shots. You wouldn't believe how loud they were, and their mics were plugged into their amps!
The club they played was at an amusement park (now demolished because of racial strife in '70)right on the Ohio River... there were complaints of the noise from the Indiana side! I remember Hillman and Gene Clark rode my girlfriends (now my wife) horse...
Hope this image isn't too big to post.
Regards!
ps
well, I can't figure out how to add an attachment so I'll send 'em to anyone who emails me.

Lefty: Rick will fill us in, I am sure, once he returns to comment on his photos. Here is some additional photographic information that may shed some light on your question.

Lefty:
My ISP won't let me link to you.
But:
It was crammed. Place held about 500est.
I remember they had a bus and a buncha scruffy looking girls for "dancers"... I'd never seen "free form" stoned dancers before. Tho if I were to see them today I'm sure I would think diff. I was in the 5th grade and hated girls. I was into the Beatles, man!
The rest of that roll of 8 pix is The Dave Clark 5 at a press conference in Louisville. Oh Brother.
The Oxfords and The Rugbys (how Anglo!) opened. The Oxfords had a regional hit w/ "Always Something There To Remind Me" on the Mala label; whilst The Rugbys had that awful "You, I" record circa '68. If you were to know the political situation in Lou at the time, you'd be amazed they got to play there at all...
Altho' I wasn't able to "see" them i could sure as hell hear them from outside (along with alot of other kids) and YOU COULD NOT HEAR THE VOCALS.
