Post by RicukStu »

I knew nothing about this but these have just been listed on the guitarguitar website in the UK. A fireglo and jetglo 330F

I'm not sure why they are calling it a "330F" because that certainly is not an F-series guitar. :?

The F-hole may be a clue as to why they call it a 330F.

But as usual I am stating the obvious.

+1

They got the FG and f-hole shape looking right on this one, but without the X-bracing or 21 frets my bank manager can rest easy too...

Also for sale at Sound Affects at the same advertised price:

As with the Pearl White UK only LE back in 2012, looks like just 10 have been made in this FG configuration and another 10 in JG.

Yeah same as above......
The other thing i have noticed in the 6 string TRC department and the new 330 F holes have this is.Why is the Made in America LOGO on the TRC not parallel to the nut.It just looks off to me,just saying, cause if i was bragging that i was proudly made in America id kind make sure it wasnt resembling a dogs hind leg.I also have to agree with Eddie that the FG is looking better on this one and looks far superior to the recent ones ive looked at that have had a thin dark edge.
All being said well done RIC for trying something a bit out of the norm.

I think that's absolutely right. It's very positive that these small runs of non-standard LE guitars continue to be part of the factory's production planning. While I'm sure RoMo fans like us would still love to see C series standard (i.e. X-braced/21 fret etc) reissues of the most successful original '60's exports (i.e. models 1997, 1998, 1993) these 24 fret f-hole LE guitars are very interesting in their own right.

You just KNOW that 30 years from now some future collector will be bragging about owning one of these and will be going on at length about the
"made in USA" being off centre as one of the neat things about guitars made way back in 2014...

Someone on TB recently bought a Fender American Special Jazz Bass............the decal on the heaadstock is that for a Precision Bass! Talk about having a unique instrument to brag about in 30 years!!! 8)

As to these TRCs, perhaps they were cut out of the sheet (I assume they are made as a group of TRCs on a large sheet and die cut out of it?) at a slight angle instead of squarely aligned with the edge of the sheet (again, assuming they are made as a group of TRCs on a large sheet and die cut out of it)?

Well said, Eddie and (to quote Scotty), well done the Ric Corporation.
The price differential between the limited edition 'f-hole' 330-6 and the standard 330-6 is not excessive, given that only 10 of each colour are being issued in the UK. On the basis of both rarity and their fabulous looks, I think these will be snapped up pretty quickly by collectors & enthusiasts. Indeed, I can state with absolute certainty that one of the Fireglo 330-6F specials has already been bought by a member of the RRF!!! :D

Yes, I really like the look too. Especially the FG.

A bit out of my price range sadly. :(

But it is great to see these on the market. I wish they do a run for Guitar Center or someone in the USA. 8) 8)

I'm new to this forum and new to Rickenbackers (owning one anyway)
My 330F In Fireglo arrived yesterday and it's certainly amazing. I've always loved the F hole much more than the standard Rickenbacker slash
I do want to get black knobs for it though and toaster covers. Maybe toasters if i can justify the price.
I always wanted a Rose Morris reissue but they've always been too expensive for me (If only England had USA prices haha)
It's a complete dream guitar, i could not be happier!!

Welcome Oliver,
Enjoy your new Ric 330. I like the look of the F hole too. (Now you need to pick up a JMI or Korg made in UK Vox AC-15).

Leeds huh? LUFC... :D I lived in Harrogate years back. Sorry.. I am a Liverpool and Rovers fan. 8)
