Rickenbacker 360 c63 Six String Jet Glo. Only 21 Made Ever.
Hey guys I just got this Rickenbacker imported from Japan. I believe it is the Shinseido 60th anniversary edition 360c63/6 string model in Jet Glo. There were only 21 made of these made in Jet Glo, the other 39 in Fire Glo. It is absolutely unreal! I've uploaded some photos below so you can have a look! I've done serious research before purchasing and this one came up on Yahoo Japan Auctions so thought I would risk importing it and it arrived today in one piece. If there are any experts out there who can confirm to me that it is the real deal that would be great. I am sure it is as it has the red dot markers, the 'R' tailpiece, the serial dates to 2009 (the year they were produced) and the sound is just soooooooo good!
Also how much do you reckon these are worth? I bet in years to come they will be worth a fortune.. Not that this bothers me too much as I intend on keeping it.. but I am interested to find out how much one could sell this type of guitar for.

....less than it was a month ago!
They just issued another 50 of these to Guitar Center stores. Granted they're in Fireglo - but that's the finish most people are looking for in a double-bound Rick (some guy from Liverpool had a bit of influence...).
Therein lies the difficulty of speculating value on a limited edition - any any time, the factory could just make more of them!
Lovely guitar though, I like them in JG. Very sharp-looking guitar.

What a cool guitar, Ali! You must be in heaven.
Collin, the difference between the Japanese guitars and the GC specials isn't significant, but there are some differences. The Japanese guitars had open back Grover Sta-tite tuners, "R" tailpiece, dual mono outputs and were available in FG as well as JG, while the GC specials have regular vintage Kluson, trapeze tailpiece, Ric-O-Sound and were FG only.
Personally, I prefer the Japanese guitars, myself.

Cheers for the comments guys. I love it! Can not get over the sound, tone and how it feels to play.. it's so different to any other guitar I've owned.

Ah, interesting info. Thanks, Jake.
Personally, out of the two I'd want a GC in Jetglo.. but that's some very minor differences overall.

RIC got it right with these - I hope they become regular issue. That would mean more bands looking and sounding better!
Re: Rickenbacker 360 c63 Six String Jet Glo. Only 21 Made Ev
I see GC still has 14 of the FG 6stings in stock.
I wonder if these will ever go on clearance?
Love your 360c63-6 JG btw.
and does anyone know if the original 360c63 had crushed pearl inlays?
