lefty 4001S refin

Post by iamthebassman »

Well, after almost 20 years with my pseudo-MMT paintjob I have turned my 4001S over to a local guy to refinish it in white. Here's a progress pic:

I can't believe how clean the fretboard is, it had heavy gunk from decades of (ab)use.

For any new folks, here's a "Before" pic:

This explains the Chinese Lefty Knockoff market rumor mill buzz about a Maurice Gibb tribute bass.

Ronn has some nice basses and this one is going to look great. Hope the rest of the refin goes well. I've a '93 S and love playing it. Very comfortable.

What year is this bass Ronn? How's it feel/play compared to your CS?

Excellent very nice. I really like it
Did you consider, since the instrument was under some work, the option of asking the person in charge of the work to move the toaster to the vintage position? I imagine you were not interested in such modification

Looking fabulous...

Without doubt, the best color on a 4001S!
