Brought her to our gig tonight and played her like I stole her!! A few people had cameras and we tried recording with a Go Pro. We'll see if the fotos come out!! She held her own and more for the first set and she felt and sounded great!!! Founds out tonight she's a year older than our guitarist!!
Very tired, time for bed!

John,
The singer had the Go Pro attached to one of the monitor supports. He had the camera angle too wide so we are tiny. He said audio was **** and he was trying to sync the video with the CD we recorded. I'm glad he's doing this since I'd most likely throw one of the devices out of a window!!

Hmm, how do I break the news. OK, here goes. She was only with me for a short time but man what I time it was. On a whim I put her up on ebay and low and behold I was contacted about her availability. After sending additional fotos, a price was negotiated on and I removed her early from the auction. She had a ton of watchers. I realize that only a small handful of people would have been in the market for her and I nearly backed out of the "handshake deal" I had made to sell her.
I am both happy and sad to report that she is leaving me to reside in the collection of a very serious, and famous, vintage Rickenbacker collector that happens to live in an area that starts with a "C" and ends with an "A".
Congrats to the new owner!! I'll miss this one!!

I saw it up on the 'bay. What were the reasons for selling, if you don't mind me asking?Kopfjaeger wrote:Hmm, how do I break the news. OK, here goes. Well, it was sorta a test to gauge interest. My son has gotten acceptance notices to both the colleges of his choice so a bill will be forthcoming to assure his place in college. This frees up the funds. She's a great bass and I'm glad I got to gig her. i just wish I had fotos of me doing so. The truth is I'm not a collector, I'm a player that happens to like vintage instruments. She was too damn nice to play out and I worried the entire time she was sitting on stage. Is some arseloch going to fall/bump into her or spill a drink on her?? She was wanted by said famous collector and this guy will love her and play her like she needs to be be! The guy is a major player and I'm proud that he will be her new owner. I'll miss her but she's going to be in great hands.henry5 wrote:I saw it up on the 'bay. Jeff, come on seriously?? You know very well that the thin atmosphere on Ceti Alpha is not conducive to great bass tone and it's a sustain killer. I'd never send her there.
