I always thought the mid 90's to late 2000's had the thick necks, I had a 92 with a thin neck. late 70's of which I've a few are medium (for Rick). That being said there are variations ever year or at least there were variations, don't know about the new ones.

A forum member has one for sale for a very decent price. Have a look in the classified section.

Hiya, I am new to this site & have a Rickenbacker 4002 for sale; very decent price. Everything is original, with slight wear from usage although hasn't been used in years. Have plenty of pictures that can be sent/uploaded.

I appreciate any interest in this rare guitar & I'm looking to sell to the right buyer.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome Kat,

4002s are always of interest, so I hope you find a buyer. You may want to post in our "Ricks for Sale" department which you should be able to see when you register here. There are rules, so check them out there. Hope you enjoy the RRF!

Gee, hate to be a contrarian (sort of) but the necks on my '01 4003 and '73 4001 are practically clones. Both a very flattened D in cross-section, and as thin and fast as any bass I've ever played. I have an Epi EA-260 from the early '70s that's pretty much the same - maybe a hair thinner, but not quite as fast; and a couple of Dano DC Pros that are a smidge thicker and more of a flattened C, but a touch faster (feel almost Teflon coated). Overall, though, it's the Ricks by a nose. :) And, hello, Kat, from me also!
