IMO go for the new one..I have a 2011 4003 and a 2013 4004 which both have the two piece necks. Both necks have the same profile and for me, they feel great...also Widwood guitars has a great selection right now. :)

Thanks for the posts again.

This turned up on a local auction site and I picked it up for a couple of grand. Hardy played 2012 Mapleglo. pretty happy with it.

Tried a few amps out. Had an Ampeg Ba112V2 for a week- great amp for the money but the fan was too loud for practice volumes. Settled on a Orange 100BXT- sweet.

Depending on how you feel about the neck profile (probably very chunky)on that 2008,i would also say go for a new 4004,which has a slimmer,more rounded neck profile. Plus,you can pick whatever color you want. The new fireglos are pretty amazing looking on these.
I'm a confirmed 4004 fan,just bought my 3rd one a few monthes ago.
