A 4005 on stage

Post by Chris P »

When I still had my 4005WB I gigged it once in a while, but it's quite rare to see a 4005 on stage. The singer/bass player of The Klaxons uses one: (bad pic_

He also has a white 4005 clone with Fender-headstock. I have some pics.

Thanks for sharing Chris - any pic of a 4005 being played onstage is a good pic! :)

He also printed one with a 3D printer. You can see the process here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z02dClzM2Kk#t=475

Now wait until that file leaks

Are we going to start seeing discussions of tone plastic on the internet soon?

Sure couldn't hear squat on that video.

Nothing earth shaking about making something like that on a printer. Just need CAD and p-o-o-p it out.

I want a one-piece carbon fiber Ric. It will be featherweight. And will never need a truss rod adjustment.

All you need is the neck to be CF, then you are good. Surely they have pondered that, but it would be costly to say the least.

I played a one-piece CF bass (with G&L L2000 pickups and hardware, body shaped more or less like a Fender-type) and it was an unbelievably featherweight bass. I'm sure RIC can have a prototype made for them in a 4003 shape. It will be an expensive bass for sure.
