Who has one of these !! ??

I see that GC in Concord, CA still has one in stock. Given that they made < 50 ? > of these .. I'd figure they'd all be snapped up!

GC also shows one in Portland, Maine.

I got a quote from them: and they are asking $3,089

so.. does that mean that 48 of them have found homes? I would also figure: an owner would be a Rick Forum member..

Speculation elsewhere (RIC Site, I think) was that about half stayed in the US and half went overseas. The 'US half' would appear to now be down to those two.

What do you want to know?

Interesting speculation since all 50 of these (except those final 2) were sold through Guitar Centre.

There was a similar guitar in "Fire Alarm Red" that went to Germany - presumably 50 units as well as that seems to be RIC's minimum order for such things..

:D

There are still 12 of the 360 / 12 "GH" models available I see.

oh I guess I just wanted to vicariously enjoy hearing someone talk about how much they loved this incredibly scarce guitar

I priced a 12 string version and it's about $2,689 ... these 6 stringers are $3,089

I don't have the $ for either. but at least I know that the 12 string is a production model..so it will be available down the road

while these 6 stringers are NOT ! .. wish RIC would make them production , but if 50 did not evaporate off the shelves.. then they probably won't .. :(

I have a 330/12 Jetglo

and have jonesd for a 330/6 .. and that too will be available when I have the money .

I assume plop some toasters on there.. and it would SOUND at least pretty close to the 360c63 .

wouldn't have the binding which is so nice..

To my eye these 360c63 and the 360/12c63 are the pinnacle .. ! ( I've never really cottoned to the 381JK )

Not my speculation. Just something I saw and can't find now. Must be true, though, because I don't think they let you put anything on the interwebs unless its true....

The one that was at the Concord, CA Guitar Center isn't available any more.

Noticed they were advertising these in a flyer I got today, but thought they were all sold. Looks like they bought another run as there are 16 listed on the GC platinum site.

I noticed that too. Would be interested in how many are in this second GC order. I was lucky enough to pick up one of the first 50 and it is defiantly the best rick I have played.

I don't think it is a second order. I added all 16 of the serial numbers to the register last night and they all fall within the earlier ones. They are all made the same month year as the earlier ones (4/2014). I think GC was holding some back.

16675-16724 (16725 is probably the last one).

http://www.rickresource.com/register/in ... 11&order=6

And I am holding 16677 as of this afternoon. Only disappointment is the bridge is a standard one and not vintage reissue c63. I will do a 12 string compare here soon.

Update: Other issues: standard vintage reissue tuners rather than the c63 hex type, single line, flat screws. hex screws in the jack plate and truss rod cover. Truss rod cover says "made in the USA." Jack plate says "ric-o-sound and standard." The side dot markers are black, rather than red.

My c63/12 is 2006. I am assuming they held to the "down to the last screw" specs on the c63/12's all these years.

More of a 360v63/6

Interesting that the Chicago and Arlington Heights stores in Chicagoland each got another one again this year.

I bought one last summer. I guess I didn't pay much attention to the fine details. X-braced double-bound in Fireglo was good enough in my book. :D

A little relic-ing will take that defiance right out of it.

I got the shipping carton as well. Does not look like it has moved recently. Seems they were just sitting on them.

It does have a Indiana address on it as well, could have been there first.

The USA just does not do the special order game as well as the Japanese. They know their stuff. Guitar Center, well……..

Serial numbers are your friends - at least when documenting your RIC. :D

Of the 16 guitars listed on the GC website
http://platinum.guitarcenter.com/search ... &brand=126

Every single one of them was made week 16 of 2014. So we may conclude that they all part of the original run of fifty then.

I did notice that RIC did do some more of the "GH" Fireglo 360 12 strings for the Japanese distributor in week 41 of 2014. They also did those lovely 360s in Snowglo with the gold TRC and pickguards at the same time.

But I think these 50 of the 6 string c63s are all there are.

Perhaps someone from RIC will chime in if I am in error.

Cheers

Can someone tell me if the original 360c63's came with crushed pearl inlays?

What so you mean by "original 360c63's"? These never came with CPI, Rickenbacker stopped using it in the early '70s.

This guitar is based from a model produced in 1963...
Did that guitar from 1963 come with CPI's?
If these guitars are supposed to be "exact replicas" shouldn't they come with CPI's?
