Left handed Rickenbacker bass models
I was curious as to know what bass models Rickenbacker has put out in a Left handed model. Of course the 4001 and 4003 come to mind. But I was wondering more about models such as the 4002, 4004c and the 4003w. Thanks in advanced.

Re: Left handed Rickenbacker bass models
I have not seen a lefty 4002, but it is possible some were made. I'm pretty sure we've seen lefty versions of the original Cheyenne, but can't put my finger on one right now. The W is so new that lefty models may not have been made yet!

Re: Left handed Rickenbacker bass models
I have a Lefty 4000 MG from 1976, AND a Lefty 4003s8 FG 8-string from 1993.
I have never seen a second version of either bass.

Re: Left handed Rickenbacker bass models
As far as I can recall, they have made the following in a lefty:
2030 (?), 3001, 4000, 4001(1 of which is a 21-fretter), 4001-S, 4001PMC, 4001V63, 4001C64, 4001C64S, 4001CS, 4002 (1 known), 4003, 4003-S, 4003-S/5, 4003-S/8, 4004 (not sure of which versions), 4005 (1 known), 4005/6 (1 known), 4008 from 1982 in Azureglo (saw it on eBay)
One double-neck, when they made the run of RCA Walnut guitars.
None prior to 1964 that I know of. Macca's was January '64.....there is supposedly a twin of his in the world somewhere, still original.
The bass that was played by the late Ed Gagliardi of Foreigner was a December 1968 4001LH...mine is April 1969.....I have yet to see any left-handed 4001-style basses in between McCartney's and the two I mentioned above, and I've looked for 35 years.
Your mileage may vary. Who knows what else may pop up.

Re: Left handed Rickenbacker bass models
I'd love to get a photo of a lefty 4002 in case there is a second edition.
I saw a lefty 4003SPC Tuxedo on eBay years ago, too.
I show two lefty 4004Cii Cheyenne II in the book, but I'm told there is at least one lefty (besides one given to McCartney?) of the original 4004C Cheyenne. Photos and sources are always welcome!

Also, Peter (Leftyguitars ), once told me that there were two Lefty 4005 4-strings made.
One in his collection, and the other resides within a Japanese museum.

Cool! What color? They made both lefty and "PMC" lefty (with the headstock in the "vintage" position). Which way was that one?

I found it on their website. It is a 1999 FG 4001V63 WITHOUT the PMC reversed headstock.
SWEET lookin' bass!!!!! A tad overpriced IMHO.
