If you have an eBay account: he's pretty easy to find and contact.

There's a little envelope in the upper-right corner of his profile box which says "Contact."

I should point out this was regarding very public info I found. I've never corresponded or dealt with "G.D." in any way.

Like many of us here I do not really like the guy.

But like many of us here, I was happy to buy from him when he was selling the part I was looking for (a 68 toaster short pole).

While I deplore the cannibalizing of instruments to make more off the parts than the whole, I must confess if I were flush on cash, buying the matched pair of toasters with long pole bridge and short pole neck for my own 12-string was most tempting.

Yeah, I've dealt with the character. Bought a couple of bodies from him to reassemble after he stripped them and listed them on Ebay. He is one of two people I've given negatives to on Ebay in fifteen years or so.

A real piece of work. Buys under his girlfriend's name, incidentally. If you want to know my dealings with him in detail, just use the SEARCH feature on this forum .

Yeesh. Maybe they can have a Tall Tales competition. Winner gets a pair of hip boot waders...

The weird thing is that his auction prices are pretty fair, with the exception of Rickenbacker parts, they are not are auctions, they're always set prices... But let's be real, we are a captive market when it comes to vintage parts. Hate it, but necessary evil if you need the real thing. I've never had to deal with him, but I don't see why I wouldn't for an inexpensive Gibson part..

I guess you haven't read the old thread about my dealings with him, then.

I needed a vintage Rick guitar 5-pot harness in a hurry for a project I was finishing. He had one up on Ebay, so I paid a high price, making the assumption that Ebay vendors are pretty quick shippers. He wasn't in this case.

When I hadn't received the part after a couple of weeks, I contacted him via Ebay. He told me he'd sent it out the week before. I asked for a tracking number. He said he sent it USPS without tracking. He sent out a $100 part with no tracking.

Three weeks later it still hadn't arrived, and I'd had no communication with him, so before the 45 day deadline ran out, I dinged him with negative feedback.

This is where it gets interesting. He writes me and we begin to exchange emails. He asks me to change my feedback to positive. I refuse. I still don't have my part.

The next day, he writes to ask me once again to change my feedback, and to tell me that I should go to my post office, because he has talked to them and the package is being held for me. So, like a chump, I walk to the PO without a notification slip and wait in line about a half-hour. They never heard of me or him and have nothing being held.
Every day following this until the deadline for changing feedback, I get an email from him. I read them and delete them on the spot.

On the day before the deadline, he writes me to tell me that he spoke to my mailman, and the package has been delivered to my building, but the mailman has hidden the package. If I change my feedback, he will tell me where in my building it has been hidden.

However, that morning, the package, with no tracking or insurance, had been finally delivered and was sitting in front of me on my desk when I opened his email. The postmark showed he'd sent it out only three days prior, so he had been scamming all along.

I did not change my feedback. If I could have doubled down on it, I would have after putting up with his email harassment and ridiculous tall tales.

He continues to sell on Ebay. So, go ahead and buy from him. Maybe you, too, will have the experience of giving him negative feedback and watching him try to get you to change it.
