It looks good!! Not bad to British Gas Blue!! Haha!! It dose have a metallic like look to it. It's not metallic at all but maybe something in the mix. I'm happy with it! It's kind of near Midnight Blue!!
Would be cool to see my bass next to a stock blue Rick.

Today 2 coats of clear are on! Had a few runs but they will wet and dry out!! Will get another coat on today!
Getting There.
I have set a date for completion!! The 27th of this month!
I have a big gig I would love to play it at! So I'm working towards that! But I'm not rushing it! If it's not ready it won't be played and I will be playing my much loved 74 p bass.
It's a Fleetwood Mac Tribute night so it's more of a P bass sound or modern bass sound Alembic etc.
The Rick would Sound just fine! And it has got that cool factor we all love so much!!

As for the person who did the damage,I would really like to have a word with said person!!

As much as the effects of someone's brilliant ideas were - remember they bought the bass and it was theirs to do with as they please... as misguided as that may be. I'm just happy someone is trying to correct past injustices.

James....I would have definitely passed on this bass, but you've done an awesome job. On my monitor the color looks more like the old AzureGlo from the 70's. One important note...You'll never be able to get the truss rods out for possible future replacement if you don't add a couple relief routes to the "wall" at the front of the neck pickup route. Also, before doing so, you should add a lengthwise tight fitting maple block between that wall and the base of the fretboard. This is the weak point where these necks tend to flex upward a degree or two resulting in issues trying to get the action down at the bridge.

Hi All sorry for the late follow up to my last post's! Here are a few photos of the finished bass!
It's just done its first gig as a new bass! No problems with it at all so far! In the first few days i had some neck movement but after reading some posts on here and a post on my timeline i put a small block of maple at the base of the neck. This seems to have stopped the movement. I also took off the pickup cover! I found it got in the way... Looked cool but just couldn't get on with it! I installed a plastic thumb rest in the treble pickup bezel looks a bit better.
She plays nice with a nice low action! Great array of tones! Very happy!

Hope you all enjoyed the transformation! Never done anything like this before! It’s not a professional job but I'm happy with it!
I’ve enjoyed the work it’s been hard going at times! Can't explain how happy I was when i got to play it for the first time!
