Aren't you trying to sell this on EBay now?76rick3000 wrote:Good vibes everyone,
I'm new to the forum and wanted to show off my little 3000. I've had this for about 25 years and choose it over my 71 P bass any day. I registered it yesterday and had issues uploading photos. Is it possible to change your registry entry? I look forward to getting in on the future discussions.

If I can get what I'm asking for it. I have some good memories with it but for the last 10 years I took it out of the case maybe twice a year. Those pickin and grinnin days are few and too far between. Someone will want it and actually put it to use.aceonbass wrote:Aren't you trying to sell this on EBay now?76rick3000 wrote:Good vibes everyone,

I'm taking my 71 P bass apart now and snapping some pics. I'm probably going to do the same with it. I'll post some pics soon.

I too saw this on E-bay. Is that the original hard shell case? If so, I didn't recall seeing that detail in your add. If so, that would help your cause somewhat....

It is defintely right at the very edge of the fingerboard, but the note sounds pretty true.edski wrote:Just barely!woodyng wrote:I can do it now on my defretted Cii,too....And even then it might be a touch flat.

Thanks for the advice. I got offered $1500.00. I don't know if I should take it.

You should take it. That's the highest price I've ever seen someone willing to pay for one of these.

Re: 3000/3001 Models
Saw and held a 3001 yesterday. Yikes! the go-to guy for all of Canada has opened a new shop 10 minutes from where I live. I own a Montezuma brown 4003 and love it, although I only take it to gigs 10% of the time. I wasn't in the market to buy although my wife was prompting me to buy various vintage pieces while we were in the store. She's a saint!
Anyways, the 3001 is black and as someone noted earlier - it weighs A TON. My goodness; how could you have that on your shoulder for a night's gig work? Only if you're younger than me, ha ha.
I suspect this forum's rules do not allow for advertising or SPAM. If you want a link to this guy's business, send me a PM. He's just east of Toronto. He deals world wide.
About 15 years ago I dropped in to see him on a Saturday morning. The previous night I saw ZZ Top at an outdoor concert. When I walked into the store I was talking to the owner. Billy Gibbons went back to the store after hours and the 2 of them were up all night playing and conducting business. I saw, and held, (should have played it) Billy's vintage Gibson 3/4 size guitar in a case that was almost falling apart. They made some kind of trade.
The Canadian dollar has dropped in value lately due to falling crude oil prices. For collectors in the US, this is an affordable deal. Not sure about UK Pound but Ed will ship anywhere.
Cheers!

http://www.tundramusic.com/
that's the home page for the store. They aren't showing the bass with the normal store stock. However, on a local internet buy/sell site, here is a link for the store selling both a mapleglo Ric guitar and the 3001 bass http://www.kijiji.ca/v-guitar/oshawa-du ... nFlag=true
If you contact Ed MacDonald, the owner, via the Tundra website he'll supply you with a photo etc.

Came across this photo of Geddy Lee playing what looks like a 3001.

$1,475 I hope they enjoy the little dude as much as I have.daveman wrote:Yup.aceonbass wrote:You should take it. That's the highest price I've ever seen someone willing to pay for one of these.
Re: 3000/3001 Models
Now take that coin and buy a new 4003. Three times the bass at half the weight!
