Is this the norm?

Post by 59jazz »

First mod to my new 4003 was to replace the treble pup cover with a thumb rest bezel. It was then I noticed that the pup is slightly offset; not that it matters. Thinking that I screwed something up, I disassembled the unit and found that the pickup was affixed to the base plate at an angle. Anyone else ever experience this?

Yeah, its hit or miss. I've never experienced any tone problems though.

Yeah...no tone loss here. Kinda diggin' on both pups dimed with the .47 engaged.

Slightly OT... RIC should supply a bezel as case candy with every new 4003.

You can correct it yourself. It's sorta like when you go to a fast food place and the bun isn't on right. Same thing with the pickup.

My new '14 Jetglo is slightly off as well. I like mine with both pu's on full and in "vintage" No need to change a thing for me

I'm currently enjoying that setting as well.

It is probably more noticable with the chrome bezel.
My PU is off a little, and there appears to be room in the bezel cutout to let is sit where it likes.
You can't really pick it agaainst the dark bezel.
(btw the chrome looks very good!)
