I haven't been checking/posting much lately, but I must chime in on this thread. It's great to see that the "S" has been brought back. I've felt that there has been a decent demand again, especially more recently. I still love my two from 1982, especially my #1 Ric (in the avatar) purchased new in '84.

Just ordered mine from Pick of the Ricks. Jetglo, baby! I already have a Fireglo 4001V63, an early 4001CS, and one of the new Guitar Center 4003S Specials in Mapleglo.
Very excited. Probably like some of you, I went to the Rickenbacker website today and saw the 4003S listed, with no "discontinued" by it. Lo and behold, pickofthericks.com had a number of them on order. Get them while you can for a great price from those guys!

I haven't gotten a new instrument in at least 5 years. I ordered a 4003s the day after they were announced.

I'll back in the bass fold soon enough (or not soon enough :))

Thanks!!!
Best prices on Ricks that I've found is Dave's Guitar in LaCrosse, WI. I recently bought a new 4003 FG from Dave for a VERY good price.

I've got my "S" basses covered, so most-likely I won't be getting one of these, but I'm glad to see they're back.
Good job RIC!

If you'd sell me some of that Rick-O-Candy you were posting on this thread last week, then you could get one, Kevin!!!

The only way to see what street pricing is going to be on any new Rickenbacker instrument is to email a RIC dealer for pricing.

Demand may temporarily leave these as expensive as a 4003 (or more!) -- it's all up to the dealers to decide. Many have sold 4003s for around $1450 in the past, though that seems to be the low water mark, and I'll be surprised if these are any cheaper than that to begin with.

That's okay. I can wait. I learned my lesson long ago about over paying for stuff because the seller knows how much I want it. When the dust settles and the collectors have all over paid, I look forward to paying around $1400 for one of these.

I've never bought a new Rickenbacker before. I have read that the company can take some time to fill orders.

If the deposit is paid today does anyone have any idea when to reasonably expect delivery?
