Really tempted to order that beauty.

I'm uncertain between this and a 360/12...

Deposit down on a Fireglo. The waiting is the hardest part.

Yeah, I know, wrong guy, but now that I think about it, this is probably not far from what a TP II model would look like...

+1

I like guitar necks thin, both side to side and front to back.
+2

I don't let things like neck thickness or width "prevent" me from playing any guitar, but in general I prefer thinner Rickenbacker necks, particularly for 12-strings.

That said, I still think the 1993Plus is boss. Love it!
+3

I applaud Ric for doing this for many players want the wider neck, and bringing new and old to the table, but looking at the photo it just looks too wide to me. Honestly, it looks like a Ric copy, like someone got REALLY close to nailing it but went too wide with the neck. Still a beautiful guitar though. :D
Expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed (and I mean that in an optimistic way).

Don't mean to **** on parades here but Pete Townshend never played a 12 string Rickenbacker anything like the way this has been set up.
Also,3 pick ups haven't exactly proved to big sellers in he past. 340 and 370 models now defunct.

Oh, in that case I guess I'll have to cancel my order.

It's not like they're calling it a Townshend signature model- the reference is just in the description. (Though it did seem odd that PLUS is all caps - perhaps an acronym - "Pete" starts with "P" - insert your own conspiracy theory here.)

The fact of the matter is I would buy one if even if they called it the Justin Bieber model, or the Charlie Manson model, for that matter (I'd probably have to remove a "Bieber" pickguard, though). If I was to order a custom 12-str, this is what it would be (plus the push/pull pots - maybe add CB).

Yeah, what gives?

Pete Townshend is only one of the most successful rock musicians of all time with a huge volume of recorded music loved by millions. What would he know about designing a guitar to his specifications? ;)

Yes, siree! He wanted a wider neck so it won't break when he tries to smash it on stage. 8)

Pete is no stranger to guitar repair and modification.
His own version of a rick ply semi hollow

I mean't to say how cool the GrimRick guitar looks, it just seems to gel.
However I'm loving the Rick 1993 plus, perhaps its first outing is at the O2 in March.

Wow! My first exposure to the story behind the GrimRick. Great link.

Yea, I think when the 1993PLUS arrives I'll manage to overlook any deviations from the '60s. I have been wanting something like this for quite a few years.

Practicing my windmill moves now!!!
