Is this an instance when emailing the buyer would be in order? I hate to do that, but it is obvious he is getting the shaft.

If we got a look at the back I bet it would have a bolt-on neck...

Well this sure got everybody talking! It,s got copy written all over it. The buyer needs to be informed, withdraw his bid and tell the seller the facts.

I email the seller this morning and here's what I got back.

You asked:
"What's the serial number? It should be located on the jack plate. Also, does the bass have checkerboard binding on it? It looks like it may. Thanks"

It has a herringbone look to it? The serial # is at home, I do not recall it. Thanks, Jimmy

I like the part about the serial number being at home.

If this is without a doubt a fake, someone should at least notify EBay of the fraud, and possibly the buyer. I sure would hate to be screwed like this, when we can do something about it, and maybe help prevent this from happening in the future. JMHO

I emailed the buyer, told him that the guitar is a fake, and enclosed a link to this forum with directions on how to find this thread.

Good job guys. Random acts of kindness are fun!
