Mapleglo Monday

Post by chronictown »

A couple months ago Scotty started up the Burgundy Appreciation Thread; now, for no reason at all aside from it being Monday and I haven't started a thread in a while, I believe it's time to celebrate the simple and sublime majesty of MAPLEGLO. Post some pics! Show us your wood!

No need to adjust your browser, they are in fact left-handed Rickenbackers.

Can't show you my wood as I don't have any (mapleglo, that is!) but that's a truly beautiful pair you have! :)

Hi All Here..

I bought this 2002 381/12V69 three weeks ago. It had been taken out of the case and checked by the importers and then sold to the retailer I purchased it from.
It had not been out of the case/shipping carton since early 2003 when it was received by the retailer.
He had kept it new and unsold (with lots of other stock) until now.

It was new and un-played when I took it out of the box.
I was looking at a 360/12V63 but when shown this, I changed my mind on the spot.
Of the two, this was the better guitar.

This is a very nice instrument and it is a great deal better than the McGuinn I used to own.

Here are some of my Mapleglos - note the wonderful honey-gold colour which develops with time and exposure to light.

Ooh, where to start?

OK, not technically Mapleglo, but, how about 1958:

That'll do... for now...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

First view I had of my 360 MG - it will not stay MG, of that I am sure...

Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

This guitar used to be Mapleglo.
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

"Uh, I like the double bounds. . . ."
