Geddy Lee shares a look at his bass room
A less than two-minute look at some of Geddy's collection. Some Rickenbacker content. He talks bass tone (likes the twang) and we see some of his collection, which he is piecing together as representative of the history of the instrument. More of a tease than anything, would love to see, hear more.
From the "Rock Icons" show that I guess aired recently on VH1.

Very nice video and nice that he's playing one of his old Rics for it.
Regarding his comments on the Jack Cassidy bass sound from the Jefferson Airplane days, that Guild Starfire model had a Hagstrom "Bi-Sonic" pick-up in it. I have some of those Hagstrom basses (mainly single coil models) and always liked their "punchy" wide range sound.

Yes, the memories I have of Jack Cassidey were of him playing the Guild Starfires... Loved that shot of Geddy's room with what looked like a vintage '50s Rick bass, and it was good to see him playing his old black Rick!
Re: Geddy Lee shares a look at his bass room
I just posted about a 50's vintage Ric bass.

He sure has some amazing basses! It would be nice if there would be a video of him playing the 4000 and 4005

Nice to see Gary's bass hanging in Gary's Geddy's studio.

If there is a modern edition made of Geddy's bass room, you may see my former 1968 Burgundyglo hanging there or better yet, him playing it!

Did anyone notice the Daisy Rock bass in the corner?

Wow, an RM 3261, 4080/6 in white, an old 50's 4000?

Geddy Lee has some great vintage basses there.
I would love to take a peek in that room and try some of his stuff.
Thanks for posting that video!

He gets a great tone out of that 4001, even unplugged!

I noticed that too. Did Gary sell it to him? I was told that there were only around 3 of those, and at least 1 of them was JG...jps wrote:Nice to see Gary's bass hanging inGary'sGeddy's studio.

The complete "Rock Icon" episode on Geddy was really good. VH-1C has been replaying it a lot too so I've seen it 3 times at least.
