I just bought this beautiful '86 330 from an online dealer. I really like it except for one issue, the neck is too straight! The action is slightly buzzy. I went to adjust the truss rods except they're already totally loose/un-engaged. The neck is dead straight as is. I did the relief test by fretting the 1st and last fret and the string is resting on the frets. I could raise the bridge a bit, but then I lose the low action I like. I'm also concerned that in the future the neck might become back-bowed. What do you guys think? I have a short span of time that I can return the guitar.
If the seller had it stored for a long time with the strings slacked, it may just take time for the neck to settle back in. Not sure what you have for a return time, so I wouldn't wait too long for it to settle in.
Life is suffering; the cause of suffering is desire. Envy is a deadly sin. Save your soul, go ahead and buy another one....
I just discovered that 2 of the pots are from '84 and the other 3 are from '76. Is it possible that these are all original to the guitar? Did Ric install leftover pots from earlier years?
