I think cab-speaker combo is important. When I was younger I hated mids. I used an ampeg 8-10 cab with the 25 watt speakers. A friend of mine was selling a Road cab with an 18 & talked me into trying it out. It had a bit more mids than the SVT cab but still had a tight bottom end. I really liked the sound & bought it. I've never liked any other cab with an 18.
