Congrats on the bass! Looks like Ric hit it home big time in the bass department.

Now, for those 1993Plus pictures...

I've been fan of Ritchie Blackmore since, well, forever. Hence the name.

Wow, what a great bass. I received mine this past Thursday and I used it yesterday evening with the praise band I play in. It has such a warm and smooth sound. It got punchy when I wanted it to be. I have been thinking about putting in a toaster top neck pick up but I'm rethinking it. This bass rocks. If you're waiting for yours to be delivered, it is worth the wait!!

Larry, would you mind taking a pick under the hood of the neck pickup route? I suspect it may have changed, and for the better.

Also off topic - but a few cool pics of John Hall playing bass with Roger McGuinn were posted today as well.

Thanks Brian! So they did change the route for the neck pickup cavity. It's no longer routed all the way through the neck blank to the fretboard! This is a big structural improvement that should help to reduce or eliminate flexing at this point that results in shallow neck angles.

So, Dane, you're saying there's a chance that the neck pickup CAN be successfully located to the old position without undue stress to the neck?

Well I don't own a smart phone - so I can only be online when at home or sitting at a wifi spot with my macbook. So you are ahead of me.

A trick I learned to deal with resizing pics before posting them here is to post them to facebook first (even in a private album if I don't want my facebook friends to see them). Then saving the facebook version of the same image and posting that here. They are then correctly sized and in a format the RRF can handle within the size and resolution restrictions.

What I like about the facebook RIC groups is the immediate response - people will often reply to a comment within seconds. What I prefer about the RRF forum is that posts tend to be active longer and are archived and searchable - even years later. :D
