it depends on how the finish wears. the finish is aging and probably going somewhat yellow. This is what can help to cause 'tomato-glo'...I have had a couple of these and they were all different shades because of how they were used. think about what happens to the white when it ages. it turns yellow. same with the other finishes. the azure I just received is doing the same thing...

go here,
http://www.the-music-connection.com/ricinfo.htm

and look at the chart. Some of the early burgs look like eggplant...we have seen this. the later ones are not as deep as the COY from '02...It was also stated that the COY was different in terms of how they made the color so....

I guess you're right, someone at Ric looked at the 79 and thought it was Burgandy. I understand what you are saying, but the Burgandies I have and have seen are a completely different shade, much darker. Now I'll shutup, it took me about two months to accept that my Midnight Blue really was Azureglo too as I remembered them as being much lighter.

this...http://homer.netmar.com/~muscon2/r373.jpg

is ruby, an opaque metallic color...look closely at the headstock. No skunk stripe..

Now this...http://homer.netmar.com/~muscon2/r470.jpg
is red..
and then there is the reissue burg..
http://homer.netmar.com/~muscon2/r442.jpg

notice the pigment differences...they are especially noticeable on the headstocks...

Yes, Deja vu! Didn't I just make the same post two days ago with the three examples from Mike's sight? What am I, chopped liver? Image

Not trying to be a jerk...and Jaymi DID make it more clear than I did, but...(!)
